When Sunday Catechism School is in session the order for reception of the Eucharist will be as follows:

1) Newly illumined/baptized 2) Altar Servers 3) Catechism School teachers and students 4) Choir 5) All others. COLLEGE STUDENT INFORMATION REQUEST

We are requesting contact information on our parish’s college/university students. Please forward the following information to Carol at the Church Office (office2.annunciation@donet.com): Name of Student College/University Attending Postal Address Email Address Phone Contact This is a great way for your student to stay connected to his/her home church while at school. Thank you for your assistance!

COLLEGE CARPOOL

We have two new students coming to the University of Dayton who have reached out and inquired on rides to church. We are therefore setting up a “College Carpool”. We would like to put together a list of parishioners who are able to stop by and pick them up on the way to church. A list of phone number/email contact information will be collected and given to the students so they can reach out and ask for a ride when needed. Please email Carol at office2.annunciation@donet.com or Maria at mmabboud13@gmail.com with your contact information. We will then provide you with the names and contact information for the students so you are aware of who they are when they contact you. Thank you in advance for volunteering. We love to see our local college students wanting to get involved in our church!

OUR AUGUST 2017 PHILOPTOCHOS COMMUNITY CARE MINISTRY IS THE DAYTON FOODBANK

For 40 years, The Foodbank has served as the primary source of food for the hunger relief network in the Miami Valley. The Foodbank – the only one of its kind in the area – nourishes the hunger relief efforts of the community through the acquisition and distribution of food to agencies that feed hungry people throughout Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties. The Foodbank provides the infrastructure for more than 100 member food pantries, community kitchens, and shelters that serve as the charitable hunger relief network in the area. Our Philoptochos is dedicated to helping the Foodbank achieve their mission by helping to raise much needed funds during the month of August. Rita and Christina will be holding the Annual Tourta Raffle—tickets can be purchased for $10 each after Liturgy each Sunday in August, with the drawing on Sunday, August 27. This Tourta (Cake) is lovingly made by Rita Ronayne, so you do not want to miss out on an opportunity to take it home! They will be hosting several ‘pop-up’ bake sales on Sundays in August as well.

CHURCH HEALTH TEAM – SAVE THE DATE

On Friday Oct. 20th at 7:00 PM, and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, the Annunciation Church Health Team will be hosting a lecture by the Rev. Fr. Jeffery Jambon entitled Where do I stand as a Christian in an age of Moral Relativism. Your Church Health Team chose this topic and we hope you will attend. We will be inviting other local parishes as well. More details to follow.

PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR STEWARDSHIP GIVING OVER THE SUMMER

We are grateful to all of our parishioners who have made their 2017 Stewardship Commitment to the church and have either fulfilled that commitment or are current in their giving. As we approach the summer months, there is a tendency for Stewardship contributions to decrease. This can place the church in a difficult position as regular expenses, as well as expenses in preparation for the Greek Festival, require payment. The parish, just like our homes, must meet its budget monthly. Our parish family needs everyone to contribute on a regular and timely basis. You may make your contribution by check (mail or bring to church) or credit card online at www.daytonannunciation.org. We appreciate your support of the ministries of the parish and the gifts you offer to the Glory of God!
